Mineral make up tips, we have lots of mineral make up tips, foundation tips and tips on mineral make up brushes.
The most important tip about mineral makeup is to make sure you have a good set of mineral makeup brushes and keep them in good condition, if your skin looks a bit chalky or it feels heavy then there is a good chance that you have used the wrong brush or have put too much on at one time, remember you have to just use a little powder and put it on in thin layers with the correct brush, another indication of this is if your pores look large or you can see powder lying on your skin in fine lines.
If your skin looks shiny or oily it is a sign that your moisturiser is too heavy or that your skin is a bit on the oily side so you should use an oil free moisturiser or apply a semi-matte or matte finishing powder under and over the foundation, if you do have oily skin then don’t use any products that have alcohol in them or any harsh soap because your skin will produce even more oil and when it does it can take weeks to get back to normal.
If your mineral makeup looks blotchy, uneven or streaky then you are either over applying the makeup or your moisturiser is a greasy type, make sure that your moisturiser does not contain alpha hydroxy acids and make sure that the moisturiser has fully penetreated into your skin and not lying on top of it, if after all of this you are still having problems then use less foundation and blend it with a finishing powder until you get the correct result.
If your mineral makeup looks too translucent you will need to mix it with some of your concealer but you may need a darker shade of concealer than normal because the one you normally use will be a bit lighter than your skintone.
